weekly blog post #3
Well nothing new to really talk about this week everything is pretty much the same, lots of homework and essays. I know its all to prepare us for college, I can honestly say I am soo nervous about college I mean im excited but homework is going to pile up, it going to be a constant thing to study which im not very good at doing. Im going to colleege for nursing which im excited about because its always been something that ive wanted to do. I have alot of family that is doing nursing and so they have offered to help with anything i have questions about so i have a good feeling.
Women Hollering Creek
The story is about a lady named Cleofilas, who moved to Texas when she got married. Behind the house they moved to there was a creek that she had heard some stories about and she became curious to learn more. Cleofilas began to be beaten by her husband, she had one kid and another soon to be born. When she goes to the doctors they notice all the bruises and want to help Cleofilas escape, that's when she meets a women named Felice who is going to help take her back home. " Felice was like no women she'd ever met." (paragraph 82)
I believe that she meant it as a compliment because Felice is a strong and very independent women, she gives Cleofilas the strength to leave her abusive husband. Cleoilas just wants a ride and at first Felice feels a little nervous about it but knows its not a bad thing to do.
I think Felice is a very caring person who is someone that Cleofilas needs to have around her and is the perfect person to have met. Felice is very strong and independant herself and a great example of how Cleofilas needs to become. The fact they have never met before yet Feliceis still wiling to help her out, shows alot of compassion to be able do to something like that for someone is very big.
Felice acts so open and kind she is never rude to Cleofilas, she is always being herself never changes who she is which is amazing. I think Felice was trying to show Cleofilas thats its okay to be herself and that she doesnt have to hide who she is,and that she didnt need to be scared anymore.
In conclusion I really think that Cleofilas ment it as a compliment when she says that felice was like no other women she had met. Felice had gave her the strength to do what she needed to do for herself which was to get out of her abusive relationship, and I wish i can meet someone like her because she is so kind.

arranged marriages
Hindu culture and traditions is that the women are everything yet nothing at the same time. Everything can seem good at first but also can be decievig to the eye. They belong to there husbands and are to do what they ask, in the story Mita is to be married to a man named Somesh whom she has never met before and knows nothing about. For Mita all she has known growing up is that people do not marry because of love, but Somesh teaches her differently and shows her what marriage can be.
Its Mita's big day the bride viewing, everyone was so excited for her and she has her friends helping her get ready for it there making sure she will glisten this evening. By the way that they described the whole event of her getting ready you could just tell that it was a very special day for Mita.
" If I'm lucky enough to be the chosen one." In India the son does not get to choose who is wife is, his parents are the one that pick for him. India culture the mothers make the brides wear a sari for good luck, and is only to be worn on special occasions.
Mita was scared a bit because she was getting sent far away from her family to United States to be with her husband, she wanted to cry but didnt because she knew that it was her destiney to be married and be with her husband forever. Yet what Mita doesnt see coming is that for her it wont be forever, Mitas husband dies and she is left with three options. One, is to marry the husbands brother, Two, go in as a nun, or die with her husband either one she chooses people will never treat her the same.
In conclusion India culture the women are everything at first but if there husband dies they all of a sudden become nothing to everyone and are looked down upon. I dont believe that it should ever be that way somethings just happen and either way the wife can not change it, and they shouldnt be looked down at with disgrace.

weekly blog #2
I wonder if people will ever understand that some teenagers just don't know how to shut up in class no matter how many write ups they give them, they don't care all its doing is making them mad and they are just going to do everything they possibly can to make you annoyed. I don't even understand the point in having write ups how is that honestly going to get kids to actually listen instead of talk? There parents my tell them to stop or else but I doubt half of them even listen to there parents, pretty much I just think its a waste of paper and time. Write ups is all you ever even hear about at school its getting so annoying, its just causing unnecessary pissed off people.

new things
There is sooo much that you learn in school everyday.... well that is if you pay attention which is sometimes hard when stuff is boring but last week in foods class we learned the different measurements in measuring cups and also how to double the ingrediants and half them. We cooked really good food also. I also learned last week that we need a longer lunch break so that we dont have to rush to eat, because eating fast is not good for you and it can make your stomach upset.

Lesson learned
Some things you dont really think about until after they have already happened and your already regretting doing it. We always think no one will ever hear about it if you just let it go and move on, but eventually it gets around and you feel stupid. For me I deffinetly didnt think anything of my mistake till out of no where what I thought was hid and forgot about got found by my parents, and i never wanna make that mistake twice.
Work christmas parties you dont really think will turn out bad, especially when you work with a bunch of adults that know your parents personally. We were all having a good time playing games, eating amazing food and of course came the awesome white elephant gift exchange. Working with adults the gifts arent that great and can be for more of the adults than the kids. A friend of mine got one of the gifts that had alcohol but they where just chocolate candies with a little bit of alcohol in them, I didnt really think they were that bad and i got a few of them. I didnt eat them that night i decided that i would just save them and eat them another day, except that was a bad idea and not thinking i didnt realize it right then that i should have just said no thanks.
Months went by and i had forgot that i even had them because i just put them away in my drawer. A few more months went by and i came home from school one day to find the case i had hid them in sitting on the top of the piano and my dad just stood there waiting for an explaination but i didnt even know what to say because I was so scared to get in trouble, i just stood there but then my dad started asking where I got them, who gave them to me, and how long I have had them for. I was scared I knew I should have thrown them away awhile ago and that i shouldnt have even kept them but thats all that was going through my head. I eventually just started making up stuff and realizing i might as well just tell the truth, my dad and I got in a huge fight and it was just way out of hand so I told him the truth and delt with the concequences.
I learned that day that i should have never took them because the fight that it caused that day was not worth hiding the candies, but of course we all make mistakes some bigger than others but we still all make them thats how we learn what we shouldnt do. I know from that mistake to not do that again.
